Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Accumulation of adipose tissue cause insulin resistance and lead to metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Genomic changes in protein coding lesion of signaling molecules correlated to structural changes and disease severity. We analyzed epigenetic change in adipose tissue and found fat-specific epigenetic changes. Genetic and epigenetic regulations of protein structure and gene expressions are supposed to be important to disease progression. These findings may contribute to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
