Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We conducted a two-stage depression screening survey for elderly community residents. The number of valid responses in three years was 2887 (56.2%), and the participants in the second interview survey were 202 (24.3% of the corresponding persons). In two groups of residents who were followed by public health nurses in different ways such as interviews or phone calls, the proportion of people suspected of being depressed (GDS positive persons) and the degree of depression (GDS average score) were significantly higher than in the other groups. The results were high, and it was assumed that both groups were similar groups in depression. Therefore, in the two-stage depression screening survey for the elderly, the telephone survey was considered to be useful as a survey method for the population believed to be at high risk for depression.
