Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The objective of this study was to detect reliable markers of developing psychosis, ranging from an at-risk mental state (ARMS) to full-blown psychosis. Of the 18 individuals with ARMS who completed a 2-year follow-up, 4 developed psychosis. Among four transitioners, two had overincorporative information processing style (subtype 1), as assessed by the Rorschach Comprehensive System (CS); the other two had an underincorporative information processing style (subtype 2). The former cognitive functioning style is known to be typical of full-blown schizophrenia; the latter appears to be a new cognitive marker of potential clinical value in predicting psychosis outcomes among ARMS populations.
