Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The subject of this study was to recognize feasibility of Gaussian Histogram Normalized Correlation (GHNC) system, which is a quantifying system for CT images of interstitial pneumonias. Iwasawa, Gotoh, and Iwao have improved GHNC and developed the method for extracting subpleural region and quantifying the subpleural fibrosis. We found the subpleural fibrosis can differentiate idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and non-specific interstitial pneumonia (Iwasawa T, et al, Eur J Radiol 2017, 90(17),106-113, Iwasawa T, et al. Jpn J Radiol. 2018 36(3):165-180). Iwasawa, Gotoh, and Iwao filed a patent for this method (PCT/JP2017/007668). We also evaluated low-dose CTs and CTs obtained different CT scanners using GHNC(Takehara S, et al, ECR2018), and we recognized feasibility of GHNC. We are investigating the cases of Japan Idiopathic Interstitial Pneumonia Registry (NEJ-030) using GHNC.
