Outline of Final Research Achievements

an improved hepatic isolated chemotherapy with a high-dose hepatic arterial infusion of CDDP with hepatic venous isolation and extracorporeal charcoal hemoperfusion using 2 columns in an animal model has been successfully developed without complications.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

今まで我々は高度進行肝細胞癌に対するPIHPの臨床効果について多数報告してきたが、今回の研究で、致死量のcisplatinを重篤な毒性なく使用する方法について明らかにした。今後の高度進行肝細胞癌患者に対する、臨床的PIHPに新規手法の確立に向けての大きな進歩と考える。
また、今後cisplatinを用いたPIHPが臨床応用可能となれば、肝細胞癌に対するセカンドラインの薬剤としてだけではなく、他の原発性肝癌（肝内胆管癌など）や転移性肝癌に対する治療効果が期待でき、画期的な治療方法の確立につながる可能性がある。
