Outline of Final Research Achievements

Surgery for endometriomas may cause significant decline in serum AMH levels, ovarian reserve maker, just after the surgery and it may increase soon after primary decline, and then decrease again till steady levels at around one year after the surgery. The time points when one measure serum AMH levels to evaluate the effect of surgery on ovarian reserve is important.
Three step surgery utilizing dienogest may show less decline in serum AMH levels. Progestin may affect intraperitoneal pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, such as IL-6, IL-8, and IP-10. IP-10 can be a marker for anti-inflammatory effects of progestins.
