Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we developed a “decision-making support system based on the Nursing Model for Supporting Shared Decision Making (NSSDM)” for cancer patients. This system is comprised of (1) decision-making support guidelines for nurses (an NSSDM case-based manual for supporting cancer patients in making decisions about their treatment) and (2) decision-making support guidelines for cancer patients (websites and multidisciplinary maps). Our evaluation revealed this system to be effective but also identified issues that need to be addressed.
