Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study investigated the effects of vocal emotion, vocal attractiveness, and visual information on the memory and comprehension of spoken language. In a series of experiments, results showed that vocal emotion and vocal attractiveness disrupt the processing of spoken language, while visual information facilitated the processing of spoken language.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

言語理解、感情認知、魅力認知といった音声情報処理の諸側面を包括的に扱い、相互作用を検討するのが本研究の特色である。こうした実験を通して、感情や魅力の情報処理が音声言語理解に及ぼす影響を明らかにし、内容が記憶に残りやすい声の要件を示すことができる。これらの結果は、人間の音声情報処理の包括的理解につながるのみならず、内容が記憶に残る話し方の訓練や音声のデザインへの応用的意義を併せ持つ。
