Outline of Annual Research Achievements

強度輸送方程式を用いて、界面の位相マップ、および、この位相マップから静電ポテンシャル分布を求めた。最初に、この方法によって得られるマップの空間分解能が、用いるTEM像の解像度とデフォーカス差によって決まることを実験から明らかにした。具体的には、TEM像の解像度が十分に高い場合、デフォーカス差1μmにおいて位相マップの空間分解能は約1.6nm、デフォーカス差0.4μmにおいて位相マップの空間分解能は約1nm、デフォーカス差0.2μmのいて位相マップの空間分解能は約0.7nmであることを見出した。
次に、真空とアモルファスGe薄膜の界面における位相マップを求めた。0.84nm/pixelの解像度において、8μmのオーバーフォーカスとアンダーフォーカス2枚のTEM像を得、強度輸送方程式を用いることで、位相マップが得た。4か所の異なる界面いおいて位相マップを求めたところ、再現よく、真空とアモルファスGe薄膜の界面において約 0.5 rad.位相が変化することを観測した。EELS測定から、この薄膜の厚さが4.2±0.4 nm であると見積もれたため、このアモルファスGe薄膜の内部ポテンシャルが18.3 ± 1.8 Vと評価できた。この値は、これまでの報告に比べるとおよそ0.5-1V程度高い値であるが、薄膜であることを考慮するとこのようなポテンシャルの上昇が説明できるため、妥当な内部ポテンシャルが得られた言える。以上、強度輸送方程式を用いて界面におけるポテンシャル変化を定量的に測定できることを明らかにした。
