Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, a variety of silacarboxylic acids and its derivatives have been synthesized and their unique reactivity were disclosed. A novel efficient approach to the silacarboxylic acid esters was developed based on ozone oxidation of alkoxyvinylsilanes. The detail of the reaction mechanism was demonstrated by theoretical studies with computational approach, which revealed that 1,3-cycloelimination of primary ozonide is accelerated by inductive effect of alkoxy group on the alkene moiety. Moreover, asymmetric synthesis of alpha-hydroxy silacarboxylic acid was achieved.
