Outline of Final Research Achievements

The present study focused on the role of a transcription factor TFEB, a master regulator of lysosomes, in Toll-like receptor (TLR) responses. In preliminary studies, TFEB overexpression upregulated TLR responses. However, overexpression by another expression vector did not activate TLR responses. Further study was therefore difficult to pursue. Instead, we focused on the role of mTOR, a regulator of TFEB, in TLR responses, and found that mTORC2 play a role in TLR3 responses.
