Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have shown that compounds which have inhibiting activity of VCP ATPase have neuroprotective effects. In this study, we explored new chemicals and found that several chemicals possessed cell protective effect. Moreover, we have developed screening systemes to test effectiveness of drugs in vitro. Using iPS cells from patients with ocular diseases, retinal cells with dysfunction similar to diseases could be prepared. These cells might be used for drug screening.
