Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Following the research plan, research for H29 focused on writing up results from earlier research. In February H29, the Principal Investigator gave an invited plenary lecture on the research subject (Wordsworth, science, and virtuoso culture). In August H29, the Principal Investigator finished writing up this research as a journal article, which was published in December H29. A second journal article on Shakespeare and virtuoso culture (fairy literature) was published in June H29. This article resulted from a conference presentation in November H27. A major publication in autumn H29 was a book chapter on music and poetry. This chapter has led to a proposal for a peer-reviewed book connected to the research plan (music, poetry, and virtuoso culture). The Principal Investigator gave four more conference presentations from November H28 to November H29, all related to the research plan. Two presentations were on Shakespeare and virtuoso culture (December H29, January H29). One presentation was on the poet as wanderer and magician (November H29). One presentation was on virtuoso culture in Shakespeare and Sherlock Holmes (November H29). These presentations will be written up for publication in H30. Finally, the Principal Investigator gave two additional conference presentations on poetry and poetics, one in October H28 and one in October H29. Research for these presentations influenced the current research plan.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research is progressing smoothly. The only delay is caused by the Principle Investigator (1) publishing other work (a second book of poetry with Isobar Press, Tokyo) and (2) writing and submitting a proposal for an academic monograph on music and poetry. These two projects will be finished by June H30.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In H30, the Principal Investigator will focus on publishing one or two journal articles on the research plan in international, peer-reviewed journals. At the same time, the Principal Investigator will continue to pursue publishing the research as an academic monograph.
