Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study examined the role of syntactic and phonological information in spoken word recognition by English learners. The experiments using speeded grammatical classification tasks demonstrated that English learners who spoke Japanese as their first language were able to make lexical processing more efficient by utilizing syntactic and phonological information. However, this has so far been demonstrated only in word isolation.
