1 Acquisition of manuscript documents: some registers and some statutes of the Congregation of Saint-Maur (Paris and Toulouse). Documents and contracts related to the estate of Port-Royal-des-Champs, near Paris. Documents about the confraternities of Narbonne. 2 Field works: Spacial relationship between the cloister of the Abbey and the secular area of contemplated people in the Port-Royal-des-Champs. Topographical research of some confraternities in Narbonne.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

これまで日本で未開拓の考察対象であり、正確な歴史的知識の蓄積が少ない分野である、近世フランスの修道院が、空間的にどのような特徴を持っていたのか、単に閉鎖空間で祈祷と黙想の生活に専念しただけではなく、修道士の祈祷空間を保持しつつも多様な関係性を構築していたことを確認できた。ここで収集した史料群と撮影した画像を元にしたホームページを現在準備中であるが、これが完成すれば、研究者のみならず一般国民のこの問題への歴史的知見を高めることは確実であろう。
