I gave a number of presentations on the scope of patent law protection and enforcement at conferences hosted in Japan, the US, New Zealand, and India.
We also hosted a number of international researchers for conferences and workshops related to patent law at Waseda University. Furthermore, I participated as a committee member at the SEP Research Meetings organized by METI throughout the year 2017/18. I twice presented my thoughts and analysis of SEP enforcement trends in Europe. The SEP Research Meetings laid some of the the groundwork for the Draft Guide to Licensing Negotiations involving Standard Essential Patents released by the Japan Patent Office in March 2018.
