There are many things which are not clear about occurrence of vacant houses and lots under conditions of declining population. This study clear occurrence patterns of vacant houses and lots by temporal and spatial analysis based on micro data about land use change in Okayama prefecture, propose measures in declining population for realizing “Compact city” in local city.
