Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Porous materials with high surface area are desired in solving environmental and energy issues. Here we developed a new synthesis method based on self-bubbling solidification of boric acid and formaldehyde-dicyandiamide resin coupled with ammonia annealing to produce porous boron nitride materials with high specific surface area of 1400 m2/g. It thus demonstrated a highly efficient separation of water-oil mixtures, and showed high adsorption capacity for rhodamine B dye and cadmium (554 mg/g and 561 mg/g respectively). Moreover, we explored size and morphology manipulation in synthesizing porous carbon bubbles and 3D networks by pyrolysis of MOF or ZIF, and applied these carbon architectonics for the high performance energy storage based on fast intercalation of K+ and/or Na+.
