Outline of Annual Research Achievements

Developments of electromagnetic devices require multi-functional materials, such as magnetic-dielectric films, and multiferroic materials. In this research, the BTO-Co multi-layer nano-composite films have been deposited successfully, which consist of amorphous BTO layers and Co nano particles layers. Noteworthy, the films show super-paramagnetic properties. The dielectric constant of these BTO-Co films increases from about10-40, by controlling the Co layer thickness. The conlusion is that the interface state of matrix and particles has a great effect on the magnetic and dielectric properties.
