Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Tuberculosis (Tb) is still one of great public health problems, and holds a risk that will spread explosively again among human being in no distant future. CD4+ T cells play a critical role in controlling M. Tuberculosis infection. CD4+ T cells are separated to many subsets, and these subsets produce unique sets of cytokine. In this study, we evaluated the cytokine profile at each clinical stage (contact, active, on-treatment and after-treatment) and of healthy controls. The result is that we could find characteristic cytokine profile at each clinical stage. The knowledge of this study needs to be warranted, but has some potential to detect Tb clinical stage exactly.
