Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAF) are major component cells in cancer stroma and play a crucial role in accelerating tumor progression interact with cancer cells. Our purpose is to develop new findings, which are led to functional mechanism of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAF) in lung cancer tissues and development of effective at targeted drugs. CAF-specific markers that regulate the physiological functional activity, it was elucidated that ITGA 11 highly expressed in CAF and is involved in the enhancement of the migration activity. We also found that fibronectin produced from CAF via ITGA 11 expressions. ITGA 11 expressed in CAF is as well expected as a predictive marker of recurrence. Our results provide additional evidence that ITGA11 can modulate cancer associated fibroblast activity and may play a role in lung cancer developments. ITGA11 may be an attractive therapeutic target of cancer stroma to block the lung cancer invasion.
