Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The aim of the present study was to investigate whether cold compress can relieve pruritus of Atopic Dermatitis patients. Additionally, the study was to investigate whether cold compress can be safe for Atopic Dermatitis patients. Nineteen participants were included in this study. The cold compress tended to relieve pruritus, but the changes of pruritus were not statistically significant. The future studies have to confirm other cold compress methods. It was confirmed that the cold compress method which used this study was relatively safe.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
アトピー性皮膚炎に悩む患者は多く,疾患によるかゆみが患者の生活の質を下げていることが明らかになっている。患者がかゆみを感じた時にそれを軽減する方法があるということは,患者の生活の質を向上させる手助けになると考えられる。本研究により,冷罨法が安全にかゆみを軽減できる対処法になる可能性を示すことができた。この結果を生かし,冷罨法の実施方法に改善を加えていくことで,より効果の高い対処法を考案することにつながると考える。
