Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study aimed to develop an assessment tool in pediatric emergency triage by characterizing and structuring triage skills. The analysis of interview surveys based on participatory observation revealed features of such skills. A questionnaire survey of pediatric emergency triage nurses revealed the structure of triage skill recognition as well as the structure of nursing practice regarding triage skills.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究で明らかになった小児救急トリアージスキルとして構造化された看護師の認識3因子15項目および看護師の実践4因子19項目は、身体的な状態を基盤とした従来のトリアージ教育の中で捉えられている緊急度判断に必要な項目と、子どもに触れることや親に育児指導をすることなどの緊急度判断以外の趣旨で留意すべき項目が抽出された。
トリアージを実践する看護師が定期的に意識したり、現任教育プログラムで活用されたりすることにより、看護実践の中で定着することが小児救急トリアージの質向上につながると考えられる。さらに小児救急トリアージでの看護実践の熟達度合いを可視化する一つの教育ツールとして応用することも期待できる。
