Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research has investigated how the Canadian form of democracy which is classified as majoritarian in executives-parties dimension fits with the society embracing highly diversified regional and ethnic interests. This study focuses on the federal politics of the early to mid-twentieth century when the political regionalisms became apparent in the Western and the Atlantic provinces. It demonstrates an accumulation of political compromise in the policy making process and concludes that the compromise contributed to the Canadian national unity.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
