Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this project, we aimed at materializing a task-oriented information retrieval system. For the purpose, we proposed an accurate element-based retrieval method for Web documents, an accurate part-of-speech tagging method for Web queries, and an accurate information integration method for heterogeneous information sources. Additionally, we conducted per-task analysis and revealed difficulty and appropriate information granularity for search results of each task. As the results of this project, we made substantial progress to materialize a task-oriented information retrieval system.
