Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We examined the role of INSL6 in the heart using INSL6 deficient mice (INSL6 KO). There was no difference in cardiac morphology between INSL6 KO mice and wild type mice under normal condition. INSL6 KO mice after angiotensin II stimulation showed significantly increased myocardial fibrosis and decreased cardiac function compared with wild type mice. It was suggested that INSL6 is involved in myocardial fibrosis and cardiac remodeling.
