Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research is aimed at the question of who was the "supporter" of the Neapolitan public theaters in the late 18th century (the impresario, the audience and their financial support), and what kind of political tendencies was reflected in theatrical works. Through the "excavation" of materials: the envoy of W. Hamilton preserved in British Museum, contracts between impresarios and artists in Notary Archive of Naples, and bank payment records of Archives of Bank of Naples, the theatrical practice in this period and role of impresario had been revealed.
