Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have measured microwave phonon propagation on a hybrid multiferroic composed by a ferromagnetic Ni film on a piezoelectric LiNbO3 substrate. We have observed that nonreciprocal phonon propagation emerges around a frequency where acoustically-induced ferromagnetic resonance takes place. Based on a phenomenological theory including magnetoelastic energy, we have succeeded in understanding the phonon nonreciprocity and its angular dependence.
