Change in paleo-stress and quantitative comparison between elastic strain and deformation fabrics in seismic cycles in subduction zone(Fostering Joint International Research)

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、海洋付加体における古応力の変化を方位および強度について制約することである。一昨年度に一年間ドイツ・GEOMARに滞在し行った実験結果から得られた堆積物物性と、南海トラフ海洋付加体の掘削コアに記録された小断層解析から得られた古応力方位および応力比から、応力強度の制約にも成功した。また、古応力の変化も捉えることに成功した。この変化は地震サイクルに伴う可能性が高い。昨年度中にデータをまとめ、論文を執筆を開始した。また、本年度はじめに第一原稿をドイツの共同研究者らと議論し、大きく改善した最終原稿を国際誌に投稿した。レビュー結果はマイナーリビジョンであった。リバイスの過程でも共同研究者らと対応を協議し、11月に修正原稿を投稿した。12月終わりに受理となり、2019年1月に掲載に至った。
この間、国際海洋掘削計画でニュージーランド・ヒクランギ海溝掘削計画に参加した。ニュージーランドヒクランギ海溝はおよそ2年毎の定期的なスロー地震の浅部に至るすべりが記録されているところであり、本研究と同様の手法が適用できると考える。また、その際、ドイツ人の沈み込み帯グループと新たな関係を築き、国際共同研究のさらなる発展につながる議論を行った。このグループには本研究費の共同研究者も含まれている。昨年度は、この日本-ドイツの研究グループで共同研究を行う研究費の申請を行なったが獲得に至らなかった。現在、異なる研究費を申請しようとしており、引き続き共同研究の枠組みの維持・継続を計画中である。
