Research Abstract

アニリニウムのm-位に置換基を持つm-phenylenediamineのモノプロトン体(HMPD^+)およびm-fluoroanilineのプロトン化物(HMFA^+)を、磁性を示す[Ni(dmit)_2]結晶内に導入し、分子回転について検討した。アニリニウムより大きなカチオンの回転に十分な空間を結晶内に確保するために、より大きな、dibenzo[18]crown-6を用いて(PhNH_3^+)(dibenzo[18]crown-6)[Ni(dmt)_2]結晶を合成した。結晶内でフェニル基が回転するのに十分な空間が確保されていた。HMPD^+およびHMFA^+も同一の組成、同形の結晶を与えた。これらの結晶では、アリール基のdisorderに対応して、アミノ基およびフルオロ基が2カ所に出現している。これらの結晶内では、分子回転子であるアリール基の回転軸に垂直な方向にダイポールモーメントが存在するため、外部電場の印加により、回転子の配向制御が可能であると考えられる。そこで、(HMFA^+)(dibenzo[18]crown-6)[Ni(dmit)_2]結晶に交流電場を印加して、誘電率測定を行った。温度依存性測定から、220K以上において周波数依存性が発現し、1kHz程度の周波数では誘電率の顕著な増大が観察された。この現象は強誘電体特有の挙動であり、実際に、P-E測定等から、この結晶は350K付近に転移温度を持つ強誘電体であることが判明した。
