Research Abstract

本研究は、滞留するスラブ内の諸過程とスラブと下部マントルとの化学的相互作用を解明することにより、スタグナントスラブの多様性、滞留したスラブのマントル深部への崩落の原因、崩落するスラブのダイナミクスを解明することを目的としている。
本年度においては、(1)下部マントルと核マントル境界領域の物質構成を解明するために、核マントル境界にいたる広い圧力領域において、高温高圧X線その場観察実験にもとづいてスラブ物質と周囲のマントルの密度を決定し、崩落するスラブの浮力を明らかにした。(2)下部マントル最下部のD"層の実態を解明するために、下部マントル鉱物と金属鉄との反応実験を継続した。(3)高圧安定含水鉱物δ-A100Hが180GPaを超える圧力まで安定であることを明らかにし、この相が核に水を運ぶことを明らかにした。さらに、この相と金属鉄が、20GPa以上で1300K以上の条件で、鉄水素化物とA1203が生じる反応を明らかにした。(4)高温高圧下の条件において、ブリリュアン散乱法を用いて下部マントル物質の弾性的性質の測定を開始した。(5)マントル遷移層条件のもとでリングウッダイト中におけるシリコン、酸素、水素の元素の拡散係数を測定した。また、(6)マントル遷移層鉱物であるアキモトアイトの応力下での選択配向性を明らかにし、トンガスラブの異方性に解釈を与えた。
