Research Abstract

本研究領域は、真核細胞の遺伝情報を保持し、発現させる基本構造体である細胞核を研究対象とし、その機能を構造構築のダイナミクスに立脚して統合的に理解することを目的としている。このため、本総括班では、領域内での研究の有機的な融合のため、定期的に開催する班会議を最も重要視し、班会議での発表、討論に基づいて、内部評価を厳密に行なうとともに、活発な意見交換、情報交換を促すことにより、各研究者が相互に影響を及ぼし合い、学際的な相互交流が進展することを目指している。この目的に沿って、領域班会議を5回にわたって開催し、計画班・公募班を問わず、班員すべてが研究成果や計画を発表し、他の班員、総括班評価担当委員からの評価を受けた。また、総括班会議を8回にわたって開催し、主として本研究領域の活動をどのように総括し、次のステップにつなげていくかについて話し合ってきた。一方、本特定領域のキーワードの1つである「可視化」技術は、日進月歩で開発が進んでおり、それらの技術を用いたデータが蓄積してきているため、本研究領域独自のデータベース作成を行った。また、ホームページ、ニュースレターを通して情報発信に努めた。また、国際シンポジウムを3回、公開シンポジウムを2回主催し、国内外への情報発信と情報交換を行った。これら以外にも、技術講習会支援、ワークショップ等の後援など、積極的に本研究分野全体の発展に努めた。
