Research Abstract

植物の高次機能とオルガネラとの関係を探るため、色素体分裂機構とオルガネラDNA複製機構の研究を行った。色素体の分裂機構に関しては、コケ植物でペプチドグリカン(PG)合成系が葉緑体の分裂に関与することを明らかにした。一方種子植物では、PG系の遺伝子が色素体遺伝子発現に関与していた。オルガネラDNA複製機構については、タバコより単離したDNA合成酵素がミトコンドリアと色素体の両オルガネラDNAを複製する主たる酵素であることを見いだした。
