Research Abstract

セリウム,トリウム,ウラン,超ウラン化合物のf電子系の純良単結晶を育成し,電子状態の研究を行った.今年度も大きな研究成果が多数得られた.
1.結晶に反転対称性のないCeIrSi_3の超伝導研究が著しく発展した.スピントリプレット超伝導が発現するためにはこれまで結晶に反転対称性が求められていた.と言うのは,結晶に反転対称性がないとフェルミ面の縮退が解けて,例えばスピントリプレットを形成するk,↑と-k,↑の電子は別々のフェルミ面に属するためである.しかし,理論的にはこのCeIrSi_3のような正方晶の[001](c軸)方向にのみ反転対称性が破れている場合は,dベクトルが(k_<y,>-k_<x,>0)に平行なスピントリプレット超伝導が磁場H//[001]のときに発現可能であることが理論的に指摘された.CeIrSi_3はそのような特徴が現れていて,圧力2.6GPaでのCeIrSi_3の超伝導転移温度T_<sc>=1.6Kであり,H//[001]での上部臨界磁場H_<c2>はH_<c2>(0)=350〜450kOeと著しく大きくなることが分かった.この実験にはグルノーブル国立研究所(フランス)の協力を得た.またCeCoGe_3単結晶試料でも同様なH_<c2>の実験結果を得た.なお、反対称スピン・軌道相互作用の分裂の大きさはLaTGe_3(T:Fe, Co, Rh, Ir)等に対し,ドハース・ファンアルフェン効果から系統的に実験結果を得た.
2.超ウランの研究をこの5年間行ってきたが,ネプツニウム化合物のNpPd_5Al_2で世界初の超伝導を発見した.同じ結晶構造のCePd_5Al_2は反強磁性体であるが,圧力9GPaで超伝導になることが分かった.UPd_5Al_2は磁気秩序のない常磁性体であった.これらの結果を基に、国際会議・ワークショップで7件の招待(基調)講演を行った.
