Research Abstract |
Particle ray generated by accelerators is called radiation. Knowing about radiation is the same as about phenomenon at the micro level and few people know radiation used for anywhere in society. In science education for children by university and postgraduate students who have the knowledge of phenomenon at the micro level, we are expecting anyone will find frontier of science technology interesting, through the radiational subject drama "radiation trial". The object is primary and junior high school student in Miyagi prefecture. We visit and perform. In general, there is little science and technology in which both liberal arts and sciences students can be interested. Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE) analysis detects X-ray generated in the sample by particle ray and analyze the extremely small amount elements. PIXE analysis is nondestructive analysis and can analyze an archaeology sample, food, drinking water, blood, river water and valuables as ring or necklace. So PIXE analysis is science and technology in which both liberal arts and sciences students can be interested. During the Open campus, we perform experiment by means of Tohoku University Dynamitron Accelerators.
