In this study the author investigated the relation between the educational autonomy and the evaluation of scholastic attainment, in the okutango area, the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture. In the field she interviewed many people who were teachers or weavers. The findings of this study are as follows. The cooperative relationship between teachers and residents for the sound human formation in the community was very important, and then the evaluation of scholastic attainment led to the educational possibility of the community.
