Research Abstract |
The most important technology to realize the micro-forming should be the application technique of hard coating such as TiCrN, CrN.TiN, TiAlN and DLC etc.. Results of Tribo-test by ironing-type tribometer and other friction testing machines are as follows. 1) To evaluate the adhesion strength of thin hard coating to die surface, a new testing method for adhesive strength were designed. The principle of the method is very simple. The cavities made by using the Vickers hardness tester are observed and the appearance of fracture of coating should be the evaluating factors. This method can be used as a simple test instead of the scratch test. 2) DLC-Si shows the lowest friction coefficient. Therefore, DLC should be the best coating for micro forming. But at high temperature, the ability of DLC decreased. Multi-layered DLC-Si shows better adhesive strength to the surface and are expedite to have better tribo-characteristics such kind of these coating will realize micro/meso forming in the near future.
