Research Abstract |
In this research, voltage control, over current mitigation, frequency control by centralized and autonomous control of distributed generators and quantitative verifications of their effects are carried out. Through computer simulations, etc., the following research results are found or learned. (1) Two autonomous control methods for distribution voltage control are developed. One is to control voltage of the same bus where distributed generators (DGs) are connected. The other controls several bus voltages in the neighboring area of DGs. Through computer simulation, it is found that the latter is better then the former. (2) Three phase load flow program is developed where three phase unbalance, lines to ground capacity and three phase transformer connections can be treated. (3) The optimal operation method of small scale co-generation system for home use is developed. By using the method, load leveling effects of DGs are verified. (4) The method by which power output of DGs based on renewable energy resources is leveled or smoothed by conventional DGs is developed. Validity of the method is verified by computer simulations. (5) Frequency control ability of DGs is tested by simulation through MATLAB. It is found that the frequency control ability of DGs is very limited, and it is difficult to expect much. The above research results are published by many papers shown in 11.
