Research Abstract |
CdTe semi-conducting materials has cubic structure, so that magnetic field cannot influence the crystal orientation. Cd and Te crystal are hexagonal and the basic layer of Cd or Te with strong crystal orientation can be deposited by electroplating process. After the electro-deposition of the basic layer, CdTe crystal can be deposited with same texture. And finally, during a heat treatment, the CdTe crystal can grow larger than that in the case of no magnetic field. Large grain size of CdTe film is advantageous for energy conversion of solar cell. In this project, effect of magnetic field on the crystal orientation of Cd and Te, and obtained results are follows. -Crystallization temperature becomes lower when CdTe is deposited on Cd or Te basic layer. -Deposited surface becomes smooth due to fluid flow induced by Lorentz force. -Cd and Te can be oriented strongly by the imposition of over 3T. -Te basic layer is advantageous for CdTe texture alignment.
