Research Abstract |
The findings of the research for this research project are as follows : 1)Workshop method was more effective than lecture method in on-the-job training based on the analysis of interview surveys conducted in last fiscal year and this year. Getting suitable facilitators and matching room arrangement to learners are tasks for workshop method. 2)Making the curriculum design as ‘KONAI-KENSHU' with all teachers of the elementary school was conducted. 3)Based on the analysis of guidebooks for senior instructor in U.K. and U.S.A., curriculum with the consideration of systematic and sequential learning and practical training like internship are needed. 4)Management method based on system methodology should be included in the principle of curriculum construction. 5)New guideline for environmental education in Japan is needed to respond to international movement toward Education for Sustainable Society. The goal, objective, ability to foster, teaching method, and topics should be clarified in relation to the guideline. 6)To foster environmental literacy, training of acquiring the methods for getting knowledge of environmental problems and environment-related information is needed. 7)Approaches for environmental education include interdisciplinary approaches, systems thinking, participation-type approaches, problem-solving-type approaches, approaches based on the perspectives of multicultural symbiosis, holistic approaches, and approaches based on linkages and collaboration among diverse social sectors. With these approaches, theories should be applied to practices. The results obtained above were reported in the Research Report as a separate document.
