Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We worked on various method to synthesize novel mesostructured perovskites (soft-template, microemulsion). He found that infiltrating perovskite within a pre-existing mesoporous structure was an effective way to restrain crystal growth and lead to fascinating properties. By synthesizing templates with various pore sizes (ranging from 3 to 7 nm), and infusing them with methylammonium lead halide perovskite precursors, he demonstrated how the optical properties could be tuned through composition and size control. He showed clear evidence of: i) anisotropic crystal growth along the channel direction, ii) quantum confinement, iii) ion mobility restriction and iv) possible photoannealing mechanisms.
