Outline of Annual Research Achievements

南米で過去発生した地震津波の津波を数値シミュレーションにより再現し,数値モデルの検証を行った.具体的には以下の通り.
1) 1979年のTumaco地震で発生した津波は,南米北部に甚大な被害を及ぼした.記録として残されていた津波記録を用いて,インバージョン手法により波源モデルの推定を行った.その結果,この地震断層の破壊領域は250km×100kmのおよび,最大すべり量は3mであることが分かった.
2) 2016年にエクアドル沖で発生した地震津波についての再現計算を行い,本研究で取り組む数値シミュレーション手法に再現性を確認することができた.
3) 地震の被害把握については,Lバンド,Xバンドの合成開口レーダ画像を解析して建物被害の抽出を行った.その被害の様相は1942年5月に発生した歴史地震の被害と類似していることが分かった.

既往地震津波および最近発生した地震津波の再現シミュレーションの検証を通じて,シミュレーションモデルの精度を確認したことで,信頼性の高いリアルタイム予測に向けた研究に移行することができ,研究計画通りの進展が認められたため.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

光学センサおよび合成開口レーダによる衛星リモートセンシングのデータを利用し,津波による浸水域,建物損傷,および瓦礫量を量的に把握する技術を確立する.具体的には,被災前後の画像ペアからの変化抽出手法をベースとし,浸水域把握,建物損傷度,瓦礫量といった,異なる被害の評価尺度に応じて最適な画像解析アルゴリズムを開発する.このソフトウェア環境は所属研究室に整備済みである.最終的には,シミュレーションによる被害予測情報,災害発生後の異なるセンサ,時期の画像情報を統合して把握する被害状況や復興状況を,短時間で地図化・開示するためのシステムを地理情報システム(ArcGIS)上に構築する.
