Utilizing two years unique RCT panel dataset (2012 and 2014) on the agricultural micro credit introduced by BRAC, three years’ shocks dataset (2012, 2013 and 2014) and three years (longitudinal) qualitative dataset generated previously in Bangladesh, three separate papers are already in good progress: 1) Impact assessment of credit program for the tenant farmers in Bangladesh: Evidence from a field experiment:
has been published as a CIRJE discussion paper and now under consideration for
a top ranking economics journal.

Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

Some of the works had been started before I arrived as JSPS Fellow in Japan last year in October. Additionally, with the continuous support of host researcher, my own effort and collaborative efforts of external researchers and staffs at the Faculty of Economics in the University of Tokyo, the following works had been possible in the first six months of my fellowship:
1)Publishing a discussion paper `Impact assessment of credit program for the tenant farmers in Bangladesh: Evidence from a field experiment` by from CIRJE and submitting it to a renowned economics journal,
2)Preparing first draft of two more papers: 1) draft titled Shocks and Brave Farmers: Evidence from an agricultural microcredit experiment in Bangladesh and presenting it in couple of conferences, and 2) Does Credit Access Improve Firm Efficiency? Evidence from a Field Experiment in Bangladesh.
2)
3)Oorganizing a session by me together with my host researcher in 9th International Conference of Asian Society of Agricultural Economists (ASAE) had been possible to organize within my four months of my fellowship.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

Reviewing literature, developing theory, increasing capacity on advanced econometric techniques, finalizing working proposal/analyses plan and organizing a mini workshop (alternatively, a parallel session in ASAE/another suitable conference) with host researcher and internationally renowned researchers/co-authors.
