Outline of Annual Research Achievements

We have successfully designed, fabricated a variety of perfect absorber devices and demonstrated their applications in enhancing light-matter interaction as well as in light-heat-electricity conversion in the mid-ifrared region. 1) Single-sized aluminum disk perfect absorbers (DPAs) were fabricated. The DPAs were applied for dual-band molecular sensing, especially for in situ monitoring of reaction dynamic of polymer. 2) Ultra-narrowband perfect absorbers for multiband IR spectroscopic membrane sensors. 3) Rectennas based on geometrical diode configuration made of mono-layer graphene enhanced by plasmonic radiative heat absorbers.
Our work have been published in internatinal jounals like ACS Photonics, micromachies, Optics Express, and also filed as patents.
