Research Abstract

植物の多くは自家不和合性を有し、自殖を抑制することで遺伝的多様性を保持している。自家不和合性における自他識別の分子機構を、アブラナ科植物とナス科・バラ科植物を対象として解明することを目的とした。いずれの植物も1座位にコードされた花粉側および雌ずい側の認識分子を介して自他識別を行うという共通性が明らかにされると同時に、全く性質の異なる分子を利用して独自の自他識別機構を進化させてきた実態が明らかにされた。
