Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、GHz超音波コンピューター断層撮影法(超音波CT)の分野を確立し、非侵襲の音響内部イメージングをナノスケールまで拡張することである。生体細胞などの液中の透明固体物質を試料とし、弾性率と屈折率の3次元マッピングを目標としたサブマイクロメートルスケールの空間分解能をもつ液体ピコ秒超音波CTと、固体内部構造をナノメートル分解能でイメージングすることを目標とした固体ピコ秒超音波CTの両方を実現する。
本年度は以下の研究を行った。
1. 高開口数の液浸対物レンズを用いた液体ピコ秒超音波CT法の実証実験:フェムト秒レーザーを用いた液体ピコ秒超音波CTシステムを構築し、液体中のガラス構造を試料として、ピコ秒超音波CT法により試料中の縦波音速と屈折率の深さ方向のマッピングを行った。本実験に最適な対物レンズの種類を見つけ出し、物理量が既知のガラス試料を用いて本手法における測定量の妥当性の確認を行った。3次元イメージング用の自動測定プログラムを開発し、それを使った水中の細胞を模した無機試料の測定を行った。
2. 新たな配置による液体ピコ秒超音波CT法の実証実験:実験系を改良した。試料内の温度分布を反映した音速分布測定を行うデモンストレーション実験を考案した。
3. 固体ピコ秒超音波CTの実験:円柱断面の試料や、平板形の試料などにおいて、弱散乱近似や、透過波や前方散乱波の影を利用した方法など、いくつかの方法による逆問題解析アルゴリズムの開発を行った。円柱状の試料内部を観察するためのピコ秒超音波の光学系の改良をした。さらにGHz表面弾性波を利用したマイクロメートル分解能の超音波CTについても考案した。

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

1. 液体ピコ秒超音波CT法については、ガラス試料を使い音速と屈折率の定量測定を実現した。今後はこれを標準試料として用いる予定である。さらに音速分布だけを独立に測る事ができる新たな方法においても、より効果的なデモンストレーション実験を考案し、現在はその実現に向けて研究している。
2. 固体ピコ秒超音波CT法については、特に逆問題解析アルゴリズムの構築において進展が見られた。またシミュレーションにおいて、試料準備、計測システムの構築といった面においても精力的に進めている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

1. 液体ピコ秒超音波CTについては、透明試料内部の音速および屈折率の3次元イメージングの実現を目指す。新配置の液体ピコ秒超音波法についても、ガラス試料内の熱分布によってわずかに音速が変化していることを可視化するデモンストレーション実験を行う。
2. 固体ピコ秒超音波CTについては、測定装置がほぼ出来上がったので、実際の試料を使い測定をし、その結果を使って内部構造を明らかにし測定精度などについて検討していく。更に表面弾性波を用いたCTの実験なども行う。
