Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ハイパワーレーザーとＸ線自由電子レーザー（X-ray Free Electron Laser）を駆使して、これまで静的圧縮実験によってのみ行われてきたタイプの超高圧研究を動的圧縮に拡張するための実験的研究および開発を実施した。研究は主に理化学研究所播磨事業所のＸ線自由電子レーザー施設SACLA内に独自に展開している高出力レーザーと専用のターゲットチャンバーを用いて行った。当該年度では専用ターゲットエリアにおける研究環境整備を中心に研究を進展させた。

本研究計画に最適化された高出力レーザー集光系の整備をおこない、集光光学系および集光スポットモニタを構築した。ユニフォームな強度分布のスポットを実現するため位相板の設計を開始し、そのためのビーム基礎データの取得を行った。また、動的圧縮下の測圧および測温を実現するためのピコ秒時間分解光学診断の高度化を実現し、速度感度域の高感度化と計測フレキシビリティを実現した。さらには、XFELプローブの超高速Ｘ線回折（XRD）イメージング系の高度化も実施し、大面積二次元ディテクタによる高繰り返しのデータ取得解析フローのシステムを構築することに成功した。

半導体金属の構造相転移領域において既に単結晶単結晶の超高速相転移、並びにその時間シーケンスに関わる実験結果を得ることに成功している。

Reason

当該年度当初計画における、i) 集光系の整備、ii) 測圧・測温システムの整備、iii) XFEL超高速XRDイメージング系の整備、における基本システム整備のみならず、位相板設計を開始するとともにビーム基礎データの取得に成功、光学診断系の高フレキシビリティ化やデータ取得の高速化に成功、大面積二次元ディテクタによる高繰り返しデータ取得・自動解析、などを実現した。

また、基礎実験を既に開始し、半導体金属の構造相転移領域において未解明であった単結晶-単結晶の超高速相転移や、その時間シーケンスを明らかにするための相転移ダイナミクスに関する実験結果を得ることに既に成功している。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

独自プラットフォームにおいて高度化整備された診断系などを利用して、動的超高圧下の構造相転移の時間スケール、並びに相転移シーケンスに関わる原子レベル観察データを取得するとともに、機械力学的性質や熱力学的性質などマクロ情報を同時に取得するための実験的研究を行う。単結晶単結晶への高速相転移過程で形成される周期構造の可能性について実験的に検討する。
