Outline of Annual Research Achievements

1)層状複水酸化物:安定な陰イオン交換体であるMgAl型ハイドロタルサイトを共沈法により合成し、カーボンナノドットと複合化し、両イオン交換体を合成した。これは上流側で分離され残った陽イオン核種を下流側で陰イオン核種と同時に分離する場合に有用である。この複合体は、カーボンドットのカルボキシル基でSr2+と錯形成し、LDHの層間にSeO42-をインターカレートする機構をもつ。TEM観察によるLDH上のカーボンドットの高分散性、複合体の表面電位はカーボンドットの修飾率により大きく影響を受けること、カーボンドットのカルボキシル基はLDHとの複合化に寄与していることなどが明らかであった。
2)エトリンガイト:カルシウム源として、いくつかのジオミメティクスを用い、Al2(SO4)3水溶液中で、エトリンガイトを析出させ、SeO42-イオンの共沈挙動について調べたところ、SeO42-の取り込み効率はSO42-により強く妨害を受けること、中間体としてハイドロカルマイトを経由すること、最終的にエトリンガイトの構造に取り込まれたSeO42-は、Ca-Al の金属水酸化物カラム間に外圏錯体として配位していることがEXAFS Se K-edge解析からわかった。これは、SeO32-がエトリンガイトに取り込まれた場合は内圏錯体を形成することとは対照的であった。
3)有機修飾粘土:第4級アンモニウムアルキル基をもつ界面活性剤でモンモリロナイトを修飾することにより、有機修飾粘土の合成法および洗浄法の最適化をおこなった。対象イオンの吸着量および吸着の選択性は、界面活性剤の炭化水素鎖長が長く、炭化水素鎖数が多いほど増大し、対象イオンの吸着速度は遅延した。14種の陰イオンを検討し、開発した有機修飾粘土は上記の層状複水酸化物やエトリンガイトではほとんど分離できないものに対して特に有効性が高かった。

Reason

有機修飾粘土およびエトリンガイトについては一部は次年度の計画に入れていた固化体形成法までを行った。そのほか、セレン酸、ヨウ素酸については、計画に盛り込まれていないハイドロキシアパタイト共沈法も平行して進めている。アパタイト法も平行して検討を進めるとした理由は、エトリンガイトでは減容化のための加熱工程を考慮すると、その構造が崩壊し、吸着した対象イオンが不安定になることから、高温でも構造が安定なアパタイト法をオプションとした。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

以下について検討をおこなう。
1)層状複水酸化物:カーボンドットの定量化、複合体の詳細の特性化
2)エトリンガイト:ヨウ素酸イオンに対するデータ収集(予定通り)、固化体の形成
3)有機修飾粘土:固化体形成時の対象イオンの安定性
4)論文の作成
