Outline of Annual Research Achievements

様々なデータに対する簡潔データ構造を開発した.まず,集合族を表現する ZDD をさらに圧縮する Top ZDD を提案した.これにより,集合族中の集合が規則的になっている場合には更に圧縮ができる.
次に,接尾辞配列上での直行領域探索のためのコンパクトデータ構造を開発した.長さ n の文字列に対する接尾辞配列は n log n ビット領域を使用するため多くの領域が必要である.一方これを圧縮した圧縮接尾辞配列では n log sigma ビット領域以下で表現できる(sigma はアルファベットサイズ).しかしこの表現では直行領域探索を効率的に行うことはできない.本研究では,接尾辞配列上での直行領域探索を行うデータ構造で,O(n log sigma) ビット領域のものを提案した.これは劣線形時間で検索を行える始めての線形領域データ構造である.
また,オートマトンを表現する簡潔データ構造を与えた.アルファベットサイズ sigma で状態数が n であるオートマトンを表現する際に必要な領域の下限は (sigma-1) n log n ビットであり,これに漸近的に一致する表現を与えた.
更に,グラフを表現する簡潔データ構造も与えた.グラフのクラスとしては,円周上に多角形の頂点を配置し,その多角形から定義される交差グラフのクラスと,クリーク幅をパラメタとして用いるグラフクラスを扱った.
