Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During the 2019-20 fiscal year we did the following:
We refined and finalized the details of the design. We developed plans for the module support system (stand). We procured bids for the fabrication of multiple modules. We outsourced and oversaw the fabrication of the modules. The final fabrication of the modules was completed. We assembled the module support system. The final assembly of the modules to the support system was scheduled for March, however it was delayed because of the outbreak of the Coronavirus. We have submitted paper abstracts to the “15th Conference on Advanced Building Skins”

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
The schedule has been set back due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, which has delayed the final assembly of the modules. Therefore, we are currently assessing the best way to move forward in light of these circumstances. In order to assemble the modules, we will need to work together as a team with the fabricators at the university, which is currently being discouraged. So, we have to “wait and see”, and respond to the situation as it evolves.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The next steps planned for the 2020-21 fiscal year are as follows:
Final assembly of the modules to the support system. Testing and development of the motion control software. Testing the movement of the dynamically controlled screens. Development of computer graphics. Development of architectural models (depending on the remaining budget). Documenting the results. Submitting papers to the “15th Conference on Advanced Building Skins” (pending acceptance).
